How does my membership make a difference?
Your membership directly fuels ACM’s ability to represent and protect midwives at every level from local practice issues to national policy decisions.
Membership fees support vital advocacy work, professional education, scholarships, and initiatives that enhance standards of care and elevate the profession.

Are there different types of memberships available?
Wherever you are in your career, studying, practising, teaching, or retired there’s an ACM membership designed to keep you connected and contributing to the profession. There are currently 6 different membership categories available depending on where you are in your midwifery career.
- Full Member – For midwives (in clinical and non-clinical roles) who hold current registration.
- Graduate Member – For midwives who have graduated in the last 6 months. This membership is available for 1 year.
- Student Member – For student midwives who are studying to gain their initial midwifery registration.
- Affiliate Member – For midwives registered as non-practicing, other health professionals and people with an interest in midwifery.
- Pacific Island Affiliate – For midwives registered in a Pacific Island country who are working as a midwife, midwifery educator or midwifery manager.
- Retired Member – For midwives who are no longer working in a clinical or non-clinical role but would like to join the ACM community and support the profession.
How much does membership cost?
As at 1/7/25 membership fees are as follows:
- Full Members - $430/year; $40/month or $1155/3 years
- Graduate Members - $215/year; $20/month
- Student Members – Complimentary for the duration of your study
- Affiliate Members - $260/year; $25/month
- Pacific Island Affiliates – Complimentary
- Retired Members - $150/year
Are there any discounts available for students or recent graduates?
Yes – Students have access to complimentary membership and Graduate membership is 50% of a Full membership (for one year)
Student, Graduate & Affiliate members also receive discounts on some online content and conferences.
All members receive access to discounted webinars, events and conferences.
Can I pay for my membership in instalments?
All paying memberships have a monthly payment option except for the Retired Member category. NB. All new monthly memberships are for a minimum of 12 months.
Is ACM membership tax-deductible?
Association membership fees are generally tax deductable if you are working in the profession. NB. Please speak to your tax accountant to confirm your eligibility.
