With approximately two-thirds of individuals experiencing dyspareunia during sexual intercourse, decreased libido, & difficulty reaching orgasm, endometriosis leaves many with chronic pelvic pain, anxiety, & fear of pain relating to various levels of intimacy and overall avoidance of sexual contact. Ways of working through & managing pain overall - but especially relating to sexual intimacy and reclaiming this - involve a multidiscipline approach & communication is crucial.

Rochelle Hamilton is a Clinical Nurse Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health in a large public hospital in Geelong, also at a private gynaecology service in Geelong. Rochelle works privately within a multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Sexologist in Geelong. his year is her 50th year in nursing, and her qualifications include Doctor of Public Health, Masters in Sexual Health, Graduate Diploma in Community Health, Family Planning, LARC provider, and Midwifery. Rochelle is the nurse manager of the HIV/Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic and the nurse-lead of the LARC clinic at Barwon University Hospital, Geelong.She has provided lectures for post-graduate doctors at Deakin University on sexual health, sexual dysfunction, and contraception. She continues to support ongoing education and supervision in these areas to medical students, including supervision to those completing their Diploma of O&G.

Rochelle continues to present nationally and internationally across a variety of sexual and reproductive health topics, including STIs, contraception, termination, sexual dysfunction, and sexual pleasure, also providing presentations for ViiV and Gilead in the areas of women living with HIV, ageing and menopause, and the use of cabenuva injectable ART. She has four adult children, of whom she is very proud. She loves cooking and entertaining, and the opportunity to continue travelling.
