As the owner of My Midwives, one of Australia’s largest providers of private midwifery care, there’s no one more experienced in this space than Liz Wilkes. And that’s why Liz will be back to speak to us several times today.
Liz has been a midwife since 1995, has been in private practice for 16 years and has an MBA from Griffith University. She is passionate that every woman feels informed, safe, respected and cared for during this special time.

Medicare Benefits Schedule - Sophie Donnelly is a senior policy officer in the Department of Health and Aged Care. She is particularly proud to be part of the team working on the removal of collaborative arrangements. Sophie is here to talk about the medicare benefits schedule.

Hallie Barron has provided risk management services to Privately Practising Midwives for the past 10 years. Her role is Clinical Risk Coordinator at MIGA, helping clients including Privately Practising Midwives, doctors and practice managers better mitigate medico-legal risks in their practice.
Launceston Birth Centre – Jaimee Smith is an endorsed privately practicing midwife who works out of the oldest independent birth house in Australia, offering private midwifery care and homebirth to women in northern Tasmania for 40 years.

What you need to know from AHPRA - Petrina Halloran is the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Policy Manager for the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. In this role she develops the policies, standards and guidelines for the regulation of nurses and midwives.
