About the Unit:

Our highly skilled, multidisciplinary team accepts all risk patients meaning you will gain invaluable experience that you may not be able to get in a metro hospital. The unit offers many services from antenatal care, midwifery assessment, labour and birth and postnatal care. Our special care nursery receives babies at 34 weeks and cares for other sick or premature babies awaiting transfer to a tertiary centre. We have an education team to provide support to everyone in all areas of our unit. MBPH is a training hospital and happily train student midwives in a paid model.
