Clinical Midwife / Maternal Fetal Medicine / Permanent Full-time

Clinical Midwife for Maternal Fetal Medicine will work top of scope of clinical practice and have advanced clinical skills to provide expert antenatal assessment, advice and education to women and families with complex needs. The role will also provide coordinated care with the multidisciplinary team for women accessing the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit. They will assist with screening and therapeutic procedures and provide follow up care and support post pregnancy loss inclusive of termination of pregnancy.

Women and families will be able to access world-class care, closer to home, with the support of medical, sonography, midwifery, health worker and allied health specialist staff. The Northern Queensland Maternal Fetal Medicine Service is the only service outside south-east Queensland providing a comprehensive range of screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to women and families in public and private healthcare sectors.

Generous remuneration package value up to $128,435 p.a. comprising:
• Salary range of $104,816 to $112,236 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

What we are looking for?:
• Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
• Ability to provide midwifery leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
• Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
• Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
Requirements
• Bachelor of Midwifery/Diploma of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
• Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
• Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
• Travel by light aircraft may be required.
• This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
