Registered Midwife / Maternal Fetal Medicine / Permanent full-time

The Midwife for MFM will provide antenatal assessment, advice and education to women and families with complex needs. The role will assist to provide coordinated care with multidisciplinary teams for women accessing the MFM Unit. They will assist with screening and therapeutic procedures and provide follow up care and support post pregnancy loss inclusive of termination of pregnancy.

Women and families will be able to access world-class care, closer to home, with the support of medical, sonography, midwifery, health worker and allied health specialist staff. The Northern Queensland Maternal Fetal Medicine Service is the only service outside south-east Queensland providing a comprehensive range of screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to women and families in public and private healthcare sectors.

Generous remuneration package value up to $117,926 p.a. comprising:
• Salary range of $3079.50 to $3950.00 p.a. (Nurse Grade 5)
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

What we are looking for?
• Ability to provide support, guidance, preceptorship, supervision and mentoring to new and less experienced staff.
• Proven evidence-based guidelines to achieve positive care outcomes for recipients of health care services.
• Ability to provide a high standard of written and oral communication skills with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of scope of practice, legislation and professional requirements.

Requirements
• Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
• Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
• Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
• This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
• Travel by light aircraft may be required.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
