YNA is pleased to announce our partnership with Flinders University in support of re-engaging midwives into the healthcare workforce of South Australia.

This exciting research project will be jointly conducted by a team of renowned midwifery professionals from Flinders University, including Senior Lecturer in Midwifery, Megan Cooper, Associate Lecturer in Midwifery, Fiona Dillon, and Professor of Women's Health and Midwifery Research, Annette Briley, in partnership with YNA's Director of Clinical Services, Kate Hepburn-Brown.
Daunted by midwifery shifts?

YNA is excited to be collaborating with Flinders University to provide a supportive education and training opportunity for Registered Midwives with an aim to build the maternity workforce in SA. This program is aimed at Midwives who may not have practised recently or did not have the opportunity to complete a TPPP.

We are seeking Midwives who are keen for the opportunity to build their confidence to enable a return or a start in midwifery. The program will be supported by a Midwifery Educator/Facilitation and will include:
- five full days of lectures and lab sessions in the simulation suite at Flinders University or on site at a nominated hospital at no cost to you
- two paid supernumerary shifts
- eight paid midwifery shifts

What’s required to be considered:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Midwife
- Demonstrated interest in ongoing midwifery work
- Engagement and agreement to complete online evaluation and feedback surveys whilst engaged with this program
- Monday – Friday availability between 19th and 30th June 2023 for presentations and simulation sessions at Flinders University
- Availability for two paid supernumerary shifts between 1st and 14th July 2023
- Availability and flexibility to undertake 8 shifts across 7 day, 24 hour roster, prior to 8th September 2023

To commence the program, you also require current clearances and competencies, including:
- Current Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
- Basic Life Support and Manual Handling Certificates
- Neonatal CPR Certificate
- Completion of FSEP (via Intellilearn)

YNA can assist you to attain clearances and competencies.
