Working in a Midwifery Group Practice Model of Care, you will provide direct woman-centred nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to women and families living in the Whyalla region. You will work collaboratively with a well-integrated network of maternal and neonatal care providers and will assess individual women’s needs and plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options, including other disciplines or agencies. Working as a Registered Midwife across all midwifery scope of practice within a midwifery team environment, you will be caring for women and their families where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds. As part of your role, you will also provide supervision to student Midwives.
The Clinical Midwife role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities will be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.
The Midwives work collaboratively with a well-integrated network of maternal and neonatal care providers. Consumers and families are at the centre of the decision making from the beginning of pregnancy through to the birth and postnatal period and are supported through best evidence based care and ongoing professional development.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate; or to be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
This is a full time or part time (Minimum 0.63fte ) vacancy (multiple positions available), working over a 7 day roster, and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. Flexible rostering takes place with On Call allocation days required

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
