Associate Professor Elaine Läwurrpa Maypilama
Läwurrpa Maypilama is the co-writer and co-director of the documentary DJÄKAMIRR. The doco was made in partnership with her community and filmed over two years in remote Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. Läwurrpa works as senior research fellow at the Molly Wardaguga Research Centre, Charles Darwin University. She has a background in primary school teaching and education.


Dr Sarah Ireland
Sarah Ireland is the co-writer and co-producer of the documentary DJÄKAMIRR. Sarah works as a medical anthropologist, nurse and midwife accademic at the Molly Wardaguga Research Centre, Charles Darwin University. She has a clinical background in remote area nursing and midwifery, with experience delivering primary health care in collaboration with First Nations communities and practitioners.

Themed Midwifery Matters to Everyone, the state conference will be an inspirational day of discussion about the importance of midwifery. We're excited to announce a wonderful line up of presentations, joining keynote Speakers Dr Sarah Ireland and Associate Professor Elaine Läwurrpa Maypilama.
