We are seeking enthusiastic, proactive Registered Midwives to join our team at the Mid North Coast Local Health District. This is a great opportunity for midwifery professionals looking to continue to develop their skills and be a part of a community focused midwifery team.
Port Macquarie and Kempsey maternity service is currently designing a unique Midwifery Continuity of Care model, anticipating to transition to implementation phase next year. The model aims to offer a variety of continuity for all women, including both Midwifery Group Practice and Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal Service. This recruitment is an opportunity to join the team during the design and implementation phase of the new service.
What you'll be doing
The Registered Midwife will ensure optimal outcomes for women and their families through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care. Work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care. And act as an advocate for the specific needs of all women and their families including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the woman undergoing specialised procedures.
You will need to communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members, and importantly be an active participant in fostering our culture, lead by the values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment.
