An exciting opportunity exists to join Maternity Services at Wollongong Hospital.
Various Permanent and Temporary Full and Part Time roles available. Temporary positions have varying end dates with the possibility of extension (at same/reduced hours).
Where you'll be working
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
What you'll be doing
The Registered Midwife is responsible for the provision of person centred; evidence- based nursing care that promotes positive health outcomes. The Registered midwife will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Registered Midwife will assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians and will maintain their professional accountability and development in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Competency Standards. Further to this the Registered Midwife will align their professional conduct with those of the NSW Health CORE Values.
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife (Division 1) or Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and pending registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife (Division 1)
• Recent clinical experience working in a Post Natal/ Antenatal Ward, Labour Ward and Maternity setting.
• Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the Continuous Quality Improvement concepts.
• Demonstrated computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
